I started making my way to Grayhaven, and I decided to stop by Ember City one last time before I went to Grayhaven, to hopefully see Noelle. I went in, and saw the mages again, so I asked about the elf that we had found. The mage I had asked said that he was doing a little worse than before, but he was still functioning well. I looked to see if he was lying, but I wasn't able to tell. I then walked around and found the Elder.
As usual, he was able to sense that I was looking for Noelle, and also that I had some doubt in the veracity of some of the members. He commented that it is normal for people to be suspicious of the newer people. He then told me that Noelle had just gone to the market, so I went to the market and looked around.
After not seeing her, I decided to take a look more along the path that she would use to go back home. And I was rewarded for my efforts. I saw Noelle walking along the road carrying a basket with grain and berries. She was wearing a white robe with a red sash, as I had seen her wear before. I offered to carry the basket for her, which she agreed to. She somehow recognized me, and I don't know how she had seen me before. We just casually talked, and we arrived at her house. I set the basket down where she wanted it, and then I asked her if she wanted to hang out for a while. She said yes, and I took her to the town area and started looking around.
We found a bakery shop, and it instantly drew her attention. I asked if she wanted to go in and get something. She said yes, and we went in and got a strawberry cupcake and blueberry cake doughnut. It was a fairly high-class place, so the doughnuts were expensive, a whopping 15 gold a piece :/ But it was worth it though, because she was very happy. And after she took the cupcake wrapper off, I casually ate it, even though it was not the most gentlemanly thing to do. She thought it was funny though, so that's a relief. She also started admiring the flowers at the shop. They were very lovely, with how they curled around themselves.
After this, we started walking around browsing all the shops. From what I could tell, she was only interested in the pastries and art galleries, so I went to an elderly dwarf that was painting and admired some of the paintings he was making. Then I heard some music in the distance. I looked at where the music was coming from and saw some kids of the village watching a group of people playing instruments on the stage. I asked Noelle if she liked music, and she said that she does, but the music played here is too fast for her liking. I mentioned that I can sing, and she widened her eyes in surprise. I sang a nice slow song for her, and she, as well as the kids enjoyed it a lot, and clapped after I finished. I bowed deeply and walked down the stage. I looked at the sky and saw a beautiful sunset. I showed Noelle, and we sat down to watch it. She sat down next to me, and I put my hand next to hers. She put her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes. I then put my arm around her shoulder and we sat in peace, watching the sunset.
