We arrived at the city we were supposed to protect to see a raid in full swing. I quickly went with Nala to help evacuate the citizens while Jyrone, Grin, and Mammon left to fight off the intruders. Nothing much to write about though. Nala and I were very successful in saving many people. Suddenly, we saw a huge group of people rush in and slay all the enemies in the area. I looked at their robes and noticed that they wore the symbol of the watchers. The Watchers had somehow heard about this raid and had come in droves to assist us!
Thanks to everyone's efforts, we saved the vast majority of the civilians, with very few casualties. After we got everyone back safely, I returned to the city and healed as many people as I could, which totaled to around 9 people. While doing this, I kept a sharp eye out for anything we could use to help the city rebuild. My efforts were well awarded when I found many bags of seed, gold, and food rations, which I swiftly brought back.
When everyone was celebrating, we met back with Nala, and at the others' insistence, they asked Nala to give us the payment. However, Mammon went missing during this, and Jyrone decided to take his share of the money, which I had a feeling that he wouldn't part with the extra cash. After this, I decided to put a small show on, and sing to the people in the area to comfort them and give them something to enjoy.
The next day, we traveled to the city we found Nala at, and spent the night at a tavern. Jyrone decided to participate in the festivities and attempted to play along with the band. I assume he was drunk, but I cannot say for sure. Meanwhile, I decided to read a bit more of the "Ways to Hearts" book I had found and as I listened to the music, I began imagining ways that I could apply my knowledge and woo Noelle. As the bartender began to close, Grin asked for a bowl of soup. The bartender obliged with a rather icky-looking soup... You might say that it's suspicious stew...
Anyways, I ended up having to drink both cups for them, since they didn't like it.
We went to our rooms, and talked for a while. I began reading my necromancy book, and only paused once to bandage Jyrone's hand after he failed to attune with his axe once again. However, right before I went to sleep, Bloodbark came over to me, and in a low whisper, he let me know that he would be going with Grin soon to the Dragons Peak Mountain above the capital and encouraged me to come say hi if I wanted. I had no idea where this place was, but I made a mental note to come visit him whenever they left. But surely, that would be a long time into the future, right?
At least I hoped so...
