Suddenly, I heard a sound and turned around to see a giant tree known as The Oak King walk out of the forest and put someone on the ground right behind Noelle and me. I was used to seeing The Oak King occasionally, but when I saw that Jyrone had been the one that was brought over, I immediately stood up and came towards Jyrone. Noelle followed behind me.
Jyrone immediately said that he needed my help because the world was in great danger, and it would be ending soon. He said that Grin and Mammon were not able to be trusted, and described some interesting murals he discovered, thanks to The Oak King. He saw a mural of a scarred man in chains with broken vials all around him, a robed figure with a hat and a lute in the woods with a bunch of forest animals around him, two people arguing with each other while suspended in the air, and finally a mural of a dragon and the robed figure from before looking up at it. I pulled out the lute Jyrone had given me, and Jyrone quickly confirmed that this lute was identical to the lute on the mural. As for the party members, I agreed that Mammon was not quite trustworthy, but I didn't believe that Grin would betray me. But having these doubts also cast a shadow of suspicion on Jyrone, but I decided to trust him anyways. I also decided to come clean and tell Jyrone the real prophecy that I had learned, and not a watered-down version of it.
After introducing him to Noelle, we decided to visit the elf to see if he knew anything about all this. Noelle kindly offered to take us there and convinced the guards to let us through. To my relief, the man was doing very well. He could see again, and once he heard Jyrone's voice, he stood up and came to greet us, beaming with happiness. He did not know much about what was going on, but he did give me specifically a special amulet that amplified my healing powers to allow me to fully heal one person every day or so. I was quite surprised to receive such a gift, not to mention the fact that he remembered my name.
After this, we went to Alfred, the head mage's house. His son was there and told me that Alfred was in his office. Thankfully, I had special permission to enter his office at any time, so I used that to allow Jyrone to come with me to explain the dire situation. However, at the office, Alfred was with a group of other fire mages, and they apparently had discovered that the end of the world was fast approaching as well. Knowing that both of us were on the same page, we quickly made our way to head towards Grayhaven. However, I looked back to see Noelle standing there, lost in thought. I went up to her and said that it might be safer if she stayed here. However, she wanted to stay with me, and I did not want to tell her not to come. After all, as she said, "we haven't finished out walk yet". So, I joyfully returned to the group with Noelle close behind me. Alfred summoned some white moose to carry us to Grayhaven, which I briefly wondered if I was connected to them somehow.
We arrived at Grayhaven and immediately went to a sort of fortification. The people looked at us, and then looked at the fire mages, and let us through. Inside, to our surprise, we found Grin and Mammon talking together. Jyrone started arguing with the two, and eventually Noelle had to come in and pacify Jyrone and Mammon. After a while by ourselves, the mages, the watchers, and the group that Grin was part of, called the Blood Hunters, all came together and took us all away. As we walked, I decided to try to shift everyone's focus and asked Grin why he never trusted children, which turned into a gladiator story. Afterwards, I was curious and asked to look in his satchel, which he obliged, saying that everything in there was from people he had slain to commemorate those he had to kill to stay alive, as a solemn tribute. I saw things like fangs, teeth, and even a white finger. But once I picked up a goat hoof, memories from long before I was created rushed back to me, and I dropped the hoof on the floor and froze. That hoof... used to be MY hoof...
With this stunning revelation fresh on my mind, we arrived at the docks. We were then instructed to get on a boat by each of our organizations' leaders, along with Maze. The others refused and questioned why. Even after being told that it was to keep us safe from those who would hurt us, they still refused. In response, they put magic binds on us that disabled all of our magic. The other three began panicking and desperately asked their comrades what was going on. Eventually Jyrone gave up and hung his head with his eyes closed. Grin also stopped after being told that his leader had authorized this plan. Mammon was desperately pleading to be let free, but nobody would listen. I looked at my old friend Alfred and asked him to at least let Noelle go. He apologized and said that she had been dragged too far into this to be set free now. Hearing this, the fact that I had caused her to be trapped with us filled my heart with sorrow, and I began to weep. Well, at least as much as an undead could weep, that is. Noelle quietly held my hand to comfort me, which only made me feel more guilty.
After this, we all set sail and arrived at a very small island. We were unloaded, and all of us were chained together in a circle. We were forcefully fed, since our hands were cuffed behind our backs, and watched over carefully. But around midnight, I decided it was not worth complaining about the situation, so I decided to sleep and refresh my mind. And I quickly fell into a deep sleep.
I was woken up by being thrown in the ocean by Grin. And I quickly found out that when I get wet, I am EXTREMELY grumpy. Because of this, I snapped at Grin a few times until he told me that someone was nearby, and to get ready just in case. Grin then teleported behind a tree, and attempted to lift his trident, but a girl in a red cloak and hood shot some blow darts into him, and he fell down almost instantly. Before either of us could act, the girl had blown two darts into each of us. Both of us fell down unconscious also.
I woke up in a leather bag next to two other people, feeling very woozy. I nibbled on some strings in the bag for a bit when I heard a loud commotion in the room...
