E'larus

Tiefling Cleric, Twilight Domain, Acolyte

"I’m with everyone."
E'larus is a tiefling cleric who appears in Azimuth Anthology: Alarming Farming Festival 1 and Azimuth Anthology: Alarming Farming Festival 2. He is played by G.F.

Description

Appearance

E'larus is a tiefling with a light bluish-gray skin coloration, which is nearly a shade of white. His horns roll backwards along his temples and sit upwards at an angle. The irises of his eyes are almost cross-like.   E'larus wears a tabard and chainmail, which are sleeveless to show the many tattoos on his arms. He wears a large moon ornament which hangs between his horns behind his head. He has two crescent moon tattoos outside his eyes. He also wields a large scythe.   His magic involves coalescing darkness, and when casting, his tattoos shimmer like starlight in waves across his skin.   E'larus's voice is soft, sensual, and wispy.

Personality

E'larus doesn't seem to care about the prejudicies set against him as a tiefling in Tarteria. He appears content with his life as it is, feeling that wherever his path may lead it is always to the right place.   E'larus is hedonistic and seems somewhat free with romance. This was seen during his interactions with Releg and his seeming curiosity with the druid and his ability to use Wild Shape. That said, he does seem to have preferences and standards that can be crossed, as seen when Theryn's resistance to going deeper in the Underdark was a "turn off" for E'larus.   E'larus has a connection to Nerull, The Scythe-Bearer, and he worships accordingly. He is knowledgeable of various rites and prayers to Nerull, and he appears to respect the path of life to death.

Biography

Background

At some point before 22 Sedaena 5A 351, E'larus met the other members of the Turnip Tillers and helped escort a merchant through the Northern Orcish Plains to Bridon Tillage.   During the travel, Tanya Applebough noted that the tents for E'larus and Róvhén Tinugalad were "loud" at night.

Azimuth Anthology: Alarming Farming Festival 1

On 22 Sedaena 5A 351, E'larus attended the Harvest Home festivities at Bridon Tillage. That evening, E'larus had second dinner at the Brace of Spades tavern along with Borga, Duggg, E’larus, and Tanya.   A drunk Releg Cirin smacked into their table and began talking with the group. When he stumbled, E'larus set Releg on his lap. Releg challenged the group to a drinking contest, and E'larus participated, using his magic to cast Guidance on himself. After the contest, the party eventually retired to their rented rooms.   The next morning, on 23 Sedaena 5A 351, they were awoken by shouts from the street. They found villagers under attack from strange, large turnip-like creatures.   E'larus used his magic to create an area of healing, helping his allies and the villagers. This aura would be lost when the creature attached to Releg's polar bear form cast Hold Person on E'larus.   After the battle, E'larus healed the druid and shared some wine with him. Releg seemed confused and delirious, but was somewhat aware of what had transpired. E'larus said Releg was to blame and convinced him the villager that died from Róvhén's magic was the druid's fault.   E'larus examined the remains of the black creature and recognized it as a Brain Hood. He saw the large sinkhole seemed to lead to some kind of tunnel or system that connected to the Underdark.

As the group helped around Bridon Tillage, E’larus performed ceremonial rites for the villager that died. During the ceremony, he burned incense and recited a well-known prayer to Nerull, The Scythe-Bearer, and he gave blessings to the villagers who were close to him.   On 25 Sedaena 5A 351, they were summoned by Falamin Leabrace, meeting Releg and Theryn, a mercenary, there. When discussing the rumors about the group Theryn had heard, E’larus asked what he had heard about him. Theryn said he hadn’t heard any about the tiefling.   They were asked to investigate the tunnels below to find the source of the continuing tremors in town. While gathering supplies for the trip, E’larus purchased a new coil of rope as he had recently used all of his.   The group descended into the hole and began exploring. E’larus used magic to light the tunnels, and he assisted Borga with analyzing the tracks of creatures.   When they encountered the myconids in the tunnels, E’larus shared his enhanced darkvision with Theryn, Borga, and Tanya. E’larus suggested the group attack the myconids before they were attacked first. However, the rest of the group disagreed and they tried to communicate.   After seeing Tanya enter the myconid spore cloud to no ill effect, E’larus also entered. As a result, he found he could telepathically communicate with the group and the myconids. As Red and Blue shared details of the danger ahead, E’larus agreed to help.   At the Fungal Nursery, E’larus blessed Róvhén, Tanya, and Borga. Once combat broke out, E’larus channeled his healing aura and kept to the center of the fray to reach as many allies as possible. When Tanya went down, he quickly healed her and focused on attacking the grimmlets with minor spells.   After the combat, the group reported back to Falamin and Releg. When Releg wanted to see the portal for himself, E’larus didn’t want to go back underground and declined joining them.   Falamin asked the group to report the events to a dragonborn in nearby Porgorag. E’larus agreed to continue traveling with the group, and on 26 Sedaena 5A 351, they set out along the Belltree Road.

Quests

On 25 Sedaena 5A 351, the Turnip Tillers accepted a quest from Falamin Leabrace to explore the Underdark beneath Bridon Tillage to learn the cause of the continuing tremors in town. At a Fungal Nursery, the group encountered a planar gateway. They defeated the creatures coming through and sealed the gate, ending the tremors.   They later agreed to travel to Porgorag to report this to a young dragonborn and to seek out a rumored orc druid to further aid the town.
