Bittersweet Grove
"The old homestead? Yes, it's a ways south of here. Beautiful place, sun filters through the canopy turns orange and red and yellow. Gives everything a nice, warm, soft feeling. People there are extra nice, too. If you ever need a place to stay and hide out, just head down that way for a few weeks and you'll never want to leave."
~Earmey Chestthorne, Bawler in Alcedene
Geography
Bittersweet Grove grows on loamy soil that at one point in the deep past was home to massive trees. Due to the influence of the Manitari living there, the soil now produces enormous mushrooms easily the size of buildings or larger. The Manitari there live in hollowed out sections of these woody fungi and eat the smaller ones that sprout up at all times of the year.
Fauna & Flora
The enormous mushrooms that make up this grove are actually one organism, as is normal for Manitari groves. The fungus is cared for by its residents and it in turn delivers for them. A host of fowl and small rodents also thrive in the grove, which are cultivated and consumed by the Manitari as well.
