Oakland Docks

Oakland was once a thriving elven hub among the south western woodland of Ethea, rich with both wealth and trade rivalling that of Raux. This changed around half a century ago when a cultist group summoned two Balors from the Abyss on the outskirts of town. Unable to control the demons they spawned, they met their ends. The beasts setting upon a path of destruction that would burn Oakland to the ground before they could be slain.
Most of the remaining population chose to leave Oakland for Rayas (home to a large number of elves) or making their way back to the Feywild. The ones that stayed began to rebuild a settlement on the coast; Oakland Docks.
Serving as a minor working port and trade route, residents are used to traders and shipments coming through the town and offer a generally friendly atmosphere. Learning from past mistakes the town is not undefended, it is rumoured to have a number of secret magical defences as well as the more visible standard array of bolt throwers and cannons in towers. Any magic use seen to be too destructive in nature or evil in any way is punishable by a fine or even imprisonment depending on how severe the effects, it is advised to use great caution when practicing magic around this area.
The town operates under a local rule as well as following the laws of Raux. They have their own guard, The Lunar Watch, a group well trained in the art of magic and foolish to mess with. The royal buildings are right next to the docks alongside some of the more elegant and fancy properties in the town. The Princes and Princesses live here but often mingle with the rest of the towns population, helping out where need be and a similar sentiment is held with the barons and baronesses who own the land east of the town.
