Rook Woods

Woodland with an unusual feel to it, the Rook Woods are rife with a magical aura that can be felt even by non magic users, it seems to emanate from the very plant life itself. The trees grow at a much faster rate than anywhere else with almost double the amount of surrounding plant life throughout, some of the tallest trees standing at around 300ft although such large trees are rare and spread out. Trees are often covered and connected with vines and other plants making them fairly easy to climb with strong branches to support even the heaviest traveller should they feel the need.
The woods are home to an unimaginable number of creatures both common and exotic, some more friendly than others, as such it is not advised to travel through without a large well skilled group alongside you. Not all creatures are hostile, in fact many will let you get on with your business unless you're causing too much of a disturbance.
One of very few known locations of fey crossings and portals to the plane of earth due to the rich nature of magic here. A recent shift in the alignment of the echo planes is bring the feywild closer to the material plane and eventually open semi permanent fey crossings.
