Alantris

Alantris is a populous continent located in the Far East of the world, beyond the continents of Midway and Indus. It lies west of the Melentine Ocean, and east of the Bloody Sea.
It was once a land of many nations and empires before The Second Fall. From the shogunates of Nyppon to the north, the Khanates of the south, and the great Shin Empire in the center, this changed with the coming of the Sundered.
Having no contact with The Mandate of the west, they fought the Sundered on their own, suffering innumeral casualties, causing whole peoples, nations, and cultures to vanish from the face of Azure.
With the advent if the The Fifth Age, it was the Shin that emerged the most powerful in the post-Second Fall Alantris. They consolidated their power, and rapidly conquered their neighbors, beginning an era of rapid expansion and military growth not seen since the days of the The Third Age.
In recent days the Shin empire has been called the The Dread Empire in far off lands, for it seems inevitable that they will stretch across the world, and the sun will never set on their empire.
The nation of Indus to the west has been fighting a war of attrition against the Dread Empire for centuries, having waged many battles on the Bloody Sea and surrounding islands. Yet it seems to be a losing battle, for the Dread Empire is always advancing.
Despite the threat of the Shin, many foreign traders are allowed in special trade cities along Alantris’s northern coast, to sell exotic goods and animals.
