The Gallow's Tree

History

After the banishment of Carach Angren, the tainted elves of Kalach gathered the remains of their fallen kin from the scorched battlegrounds. With a twisted fusion of druidic and necromantic magics, they performed a dark and unnatural ritual, using the bodies of their own to create a sprawling forest. At the heart of this forest, a colossal tree emerged, the Gallows Tree. This massive, gnarled sentinel seemed to feed on the necromantic energies unleashed during the ritual, becoming a sentient and malevolent being in its own right.   The Gallows Tree exudes an aura of dark, necromantic energy that permeates the entire forest, giving rise to eerie, luminescent foliage and strange, otherworldly flora. It possesses a sinister consciousness that communicates with the corrupted elves of Kalach, commanding them to continue its gruesome work. The tree hungers for fresh bodies, especially those of outsiders, and it demands the purest souls as offerings. The corrupted elves, ensnared by its malevolent will, act as its agents, relentlessly seeking out and capturing individuals from outside their cursed realm. These unfortunates are brought to the Gallows Tree, where their lives are sacrificed to sustain its vile power. Each sacrifice brought to The Gallows Tree, not only sustain's it's pwer, but seems to expand the land of Kalach itself. The necromantic influence slipping into the borders of Avalor, and Lycera.
