Cors Kerri Bog

Cors Kerri Bog, situated on the southern tip of the Isle of Baeddon within the Kingdom of Kildare, is a sprawling, mist-laden wetland. The bog is known for its eerie beauty, where thick fog often clings to the gnarled trees, and pools of stagnant water reflect the pale, overcast sky. The area is difficult to traverse, with treacherous patches of deep peat and quicksand hidden beneath the mossy surface. Crooked wooden boardwalks built by the locals offer the only safe passage for those daring enough to cross.   The bog is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including large wading birds, amphibians, and ancient, towering trees covered in moss and fungi. However, it also has a more sinister reputation—many who wander too far from the marked paths are said to disappear, lured by strange lights or the whispers of long-lost spirits. Local legends suggest that the bog is cursed, haunted by the souls of those who drowned or were sacrificed in the dark waters.   The people of nearby villages leave offerings at the edge of the bog, hoping to appease whatever ancient powers dwell within. Druids from Kildare are known to visit Cors Kerri for its potent natural magic, using the bog’s herbs and rare fungi for potent healing and scrying rituals. Some claim that deep within the bog lies an ancient barrow, undisturbed for centuries, said to house treasures—and terrors—from a forgotten age.
