The Crag
The Crag is a town in The Rise built on the edge of a large crag surrounded by cliffs on three sides, making it only accesible from the west. It is built along a major route of trade and travel, an important stop on the road between Aureapolis and Terminus, and the settlement depends heavily on passing trade. It is also supported by a large number of mines and herders from surrounding areas, and the town contains many workshops that process wool, leather, and ore.
During the The Mountain War, a great massacre occured there where over a hundred orcs and half-orcs were thrown over the cliffs by an angry mob during a siege by an orcish army. The event is still remembered by orcs in the area and when in the area many orc tribes, whether raiding or just passing through, will stop at the base of the cliffs pay their respects.
