Order of Iron

An Order of paladins, clerics, and knights dedicated to Helm and the protection of the realm they serve. They can be found across all of Rheiknor but they are primarily based in Osland. Their main Order Hall is found within Voreth and they are the secondary peacekeepers of the city, second to the Cerulean Guard. They serve as another element of the king's guard in Osland. They are highly revered by the population at large and sought for aid and protection when in desperate need. Their Order Halls serve as sanctuaries during Mist Storms and most flock to them when a storm occurs. They are led by Margrave Vareindal Hastrine.

Structure

The ranking structure is as follows:
Margrave: The highest-ranking member of the Order who is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Order. Margraves are chosen for their wisdom and leadership skills, and are expected to act as advisors to the rulers of the realm.
Exarch: One of the most senior members of the Order who is responsible for overseeing the activities of the Order within a specific region. Exarchs are granted a high degree of autonomy and are expected to act as ambassadors of the Order to the local rulers.
Justicar: A high-ranking member of the Order responsible for enforcing the law and maintaining justice within the realm. Justicars are often tasked with investigating crimes, arresting criminals, and overseeing trials.
Defender: A senior member of the Order who has distinguished themselves in the defense of the realm. Defenders are granted additional responsibilities, such as commanding units of soldiers, overseeing fortifications, and leading diplomatic efforts.
Knight: A full-fledged member of the Order who has taken the oaths and is granted the authority to act as a protector of the realm. Knights are skilled combatants, trained in the art of war, and are expected to lead by example in their conduct.
Squire: A young initiate who has not yet taken the oaths of the Order, but is undergoing training to become a knight. Squires assist knights with their duties and train under them in all aspects of knighthood.
