Caldia Park
"Visitors to the city that wish to mingle with high society while also getting a good breath of fresh air are encouraged to go to Caldia Park. This large expanse of trees and flowers is the perfect forest in the middle of the bustling city. Gravel paths, wooden benches, and the occasional piece of rubbish are the only sign that people have ever been in this place. In the spring, the various roses and tulips that grow here spring to life in a plethora of colours, a testament to the diversity of life on Endaman." ~ The City of Cities
Purpose / Function
This place is meant as a place of relaxation or quiet contemplation for the people of Gratic City.
Architecture
Gravel paths zigzag and criss-cross the park, with the occasional fancy wooden bench or statue adding some flavour to the landscape. Otherwise, this area is merely an mostly-artificial forest and meadow, complete with the occasional squirrel or local wildflower.
History
The park was built during the reign of Caldia I , the Empress for whom the park is named. She was passionate about the construction of various buildings in the city, and this is just one of many such projects. While the actual variety of trees in this area has changed with the seasons and the centuries, this area has always been a wonderful park in the centre of the centre of an empire.
