The Green Wyvern Inn

"As much as its famous lean of [the Green Wyvern Inn] gives a certain charm that is hard to deny, I cannot recommend that anyone stay there. I have heard tales and rumours of beds and tables shifting in the night and peoples things being found on the street the following morning. All the same, it is a great place for meeting people, and the staff there are quite friendly and receptive to foreigners."   ~ The City of Cities

Purpose / Function

This inn is primarily a place for procuring rooms for the night, and there is, in fact, an undeniable charm in sleeping in a room with a slight lean. It is primarily marketed to poorer travellers and pilgrims that don't mind the long walk to the various temples and services in the city. Another service the inn provides is its small underground meeting area, where groups from across The Gratic Empire talk through current issues or divide up riches.

Prices

-the inn does not sell food and drink; those asking for it will be directed to nearby taverns instead.
  • rooms here cost from 3 sp to 1 gp, depending on the size of room and the number of people who can rest in each room.
  • the underground meeting room must be booked in advance with Véran and costs 3 sp per hour.
  • Alterations

Over the years, the lean in the building has gotten significantly worse due to the poor soil that the inn stands atop, but nothing can be realistically done about it without closing off large portions of the inn.

    Architecture

This building has a low stone wall that surrounds it. Stone is main material of construction for the main level and the basement meeting room, while slightly warped wood causes the building to lean slightly (and perhaps unsafely). The rooms in this place vary widely in size, with some containing only a bed and having enough space to stand in but little else, and others being large enough for three people to sleep in comfortably. Creaky staircases hint at the age of the building, and the lean becomes obvious inside at the highest level of the inn.

    History

In the past, this building was a bookstore that was a hotbed for rebel/reformative groups looking for somewhere to meet and discuss local politics and plans. That all changed in 143 II when the Empire cracked down on these groups and the store was forced to close. Later, Véran Tragós's father purchased the building and converted it into an inn.
