Gratic City Temple of Tros

"For those who want a simpler service or are less inclined to brush shoulders with the elite of the city, the Temple of Tros in the Ither District might be a better fit. It is only larger in that more people are able to squeeze inside this monument, and I cannot imagine the smell of such a place during services. It does have several large balconies so that one need not sit in the scrum of the centre of the temple, and the voices of priests who work there are able to carry all the way to the roof."   ~ The City of Cities

Purpose / Function

This temple was set aside for the common people of the city when the Temple District turned into more of a playground for the elite, and to this day it fulfils that purpose.

Alterations

The building underwent a drastic renovation in the past few years following a fire in the Ither District. The building was spared from the blaze, but the architects of the place decided to switch its construction from wood-reinforced stone build to a fully stone one just in case.

Architecture

The building is not immensely tall, being only large enough to contain the two levels of balconies and the lower areas. It is built of mostly stone, with some wooden supports slowly being replaced with sturdy stone columns. The stone and wood are both local, and the building lacks a tower or dome that usually characterizes a building of its size.   Inside, the building has three levels: the "scrum pit" as it's commonly named takes up the lowest level, which is flush with the main altar and the fire pit. Above that are two levels of wooden balconies, which tend to be taken up by early birds and richer merchants respectively. The aisles and sides of the building are decorated with statues and stone columns.

History

The building was built shortly before the end of the Red Rose War, and it has stood for nearly two hundred years.
