More Lame Lamias

After cleansing the caves of the ogre infestation, we found the location that I had scried earlier. The wight was with three ugly hags and 8 zombie ogres. As one of the hags chanted, I felt like I was becoming petrified, and Minion was encased in stone. Meyos healed us, reversing the stoning effect completely. Shalelu shot the witch that tried to kill us in the face, wounding her.
 
The wight shot an arrow into Storm Shadow's face, dropping him. Minion dropped an ogre zombie with his trident as I protected us with an arcane ward and caused Shalelu's sword and bow, Minion's trident, and Storm Shadow's bow to glow with fire.
 
Minion destroyed a zombie, Shalelu destroyed another as she held the line by him with her sword. I countered their arcane wards. Storm Shadow, healed by Meyos, shot one of the hags in the face with a flaming arrow, killing her.
 
I hit the two hags and the wight with a fireball, wounding them. Minion followed up with a flamethrower, killing one of the hags, and wounding the remaining hag and the wight. The remaining hag teleported away. Shalelu finished off the wight with a flaming arrow as I scried for the hag, and found her as she was flying away from the mountain as an ugly crow. I noticed that the snow had disappeared, and that the hags were its source.
 
After I decided that she was not coming back, we set up a defensible position and rested for several hours.
 
I wonder why they would do that. Hmmm, they are part of the plot to cause a flood, and the weather would add to the flood, and make it look like some natural disaster. Why would they want to kill the people of Turtleback Ferry. We know that some people in Turtleback Ferry are linked to them somehow as they have tattoos of that Thassilonian symbol. Some of my companions have decided to wear the medallions that we have found in our adventures after it all started when we decided to defend Sandpoint. Clearly, there is some plot that has been being set up for years. Lucretia is part of it. Aldern Foxglove was either part of it or a victim of it. We have seen that symbol carved into dead bodies. I wonder if they were carved while they were alive or after they had died. I wonder how I could tell the difference. I wonder if that is a clue at all. Is that symbol meant to mark someone for death? I do not think so, as some of our opponents have worn them. Hmm, of course, that was before we killed them... Maybe they were meant to be killed by us? I need more data.
 
After resting we found a throne room with a stone giant sitting on it. Lucretia, the lamia from the tower at the rangers' fort, was with him. She looked at us, especially me, as I was the only one in the group she might have recognized, angrily. I noticed some shimmering in the alcoves, letting me know she probably has a group of skulking lamia assassins with her again.
 
The ogres threw javelins and the assassins fired arrows at us, wounding all of us. Meyos completely healed us. Shalelu beheaded two ogres with her sword, and then I teleported all of us, except for Storm Shadow (as I had no idea where he was), across the cavern to a defensible area near Lucretia and the stone giant on the throne, bypassing their was-defensive positioning and changing the situation to our tactical benefit.
 
Frightened, Lucretia attacked us with a shadow burst, wounding Shalelu. The stone giant assistant, who was near the throne, threw a large rock at Minion, damaging his structure a bit, and then a lamia assassin wounded me with her spear. The stone giant lord got off his throne and hit Minion with a massive blow, causing his structure to buckle and stagger a bit under such a mighty blow. I wondered if his bowl might shatter, and the assistant hit him again with another rock.
 
An ogre hit me with a javelin. As I was reeling from the pain, Meyos healed us all completely. Shalelu killed the two lamia that were harassing me. Lucretia banished Minion. I wondered how she could have known that he was a summoned creature as I zapped several of her allies with a lightning bolt, and then hit her and the stone giants with a frost blast. The remaining ogres were killed in my onslaught. I followed up with some purple acid rain, killing a lamia.
 
The stone giant lord hit me with his maul, wounding me and knocking me to the ground. His gloating was cut short as Storm Shadow's arrow went into his throat and pinned his face to the wall. Storm Shadow then wounded Lucretia with an arrow. The remaining lamia teleported Lucretia away, saving her from certain death, but remained herself to be killed by Shalelu's arrows and Meyos' lightning.
 
I scried for Lucretia and discovered that she was in a forest, miles away. I wonder who has been scrying on us. They know that Minion is summoned. What else do they know about us? Who is watching us? This again makes me wonder if their symbol-wearing cultists were sent at us to die, and what benefit they would have from sending people against us, hoping that we would kill them.
 
We found out from a note, addressed to Barl, the dead stone giant lord, that the ogres we killed were going to attack Sandpoint. At least we have already killed these reinforcements. It looks like we will have to slay a dragon. We will become mighty adventurers indeed.
