There's Evil Afoot

After we killed everybody at Thistletop we went back to town. I took time to study magic and I bought a wizardstone from Egon Musk, who is not a wizard, and could use the money for fund his experiments. In exchange for the favor of his finding the wizarstone, I ran several errands for him to retrieve materials that he could use, and helped him work on his carriage that is powered by lightning.

To give me a break, I decided to help Hannah Velerin make some herbal "party favors". It was fun, I will have to spend more time with her in the future. I also spent some time in the more seedier parts of Sandpoint, reminding myself of some of the street smarts that I had learned while I was younger.

Burning Mills

Someone has burned down some grain mills. There is some suspicion -- very obviously by Kayliss Korvaski -- that the Scarnettis might be involved. She talked us into looking into it, as we were sort of deputies. We found Deputy Kuff, who had been assigned to investigate. He was a dirty weasel and useless drunk that figuratively spilled his guts before we had to do it literally. After that fun, we investigated the farm of Sven and Anna. A locked box was recovered, which we gave to her. I determined that several alchemical potions and a flaming halfling were used in the arson, and some sloppy fool left a trail of arcane power, which I was able to track with my magic and it led us to their camp.

The halfling alchemist created a wall of fire to partially block our way. Inuyasha went up along a side and slaughtered some soldiers and the alchemist. Johanna breathed fire, burning several soldiers to death. Kat pounced the sorcerer, tearing into him with his claws. The soldier that shot my hair with an arrow turned to dust after I hit him with a withering bolt. After we scrutinized the secret records, we determined that the Scarnetti were, indeed, behind the burnings. Kayliss was right. I raised the 10 bodies as zombies, and they attacked the Scarnetti manor, burning it down. It was a fitting justice, and long overdue from the things they have done over the years.

We heard that Han Cuff had been killed with his own sword in the back. Our frame job worked well, and he deserved it.

Messy Murders

Someone had been murdered in the saw mill and a strange note was left there, addressed to me. Great, some psychopath has a crush on me. The sheriff officially deputized us and assigned us to investigate, and urged us to keep it secret from the town. We investigated the murder scene at the lumber mill. A ghast had attacked last night, and has come from the river. Great. Not only a psychopath, but an undead psychopath. It must be my hood.
