Lamias Are Lame

We went into the townhouse of Aldern in Magnimar. A weird man and wierder woman were inside. Oddly, they offered us food. We declined. I felt like it was a trap and I cast detect magic, and they glowed with an innate magic aura. I announced aloud they have a creepy glow. In response, Kat sat on one. They turned into weird faceless monsters. Inuyasha hacked the standing creature to pieces. I hit the one under Kat with my staff, trying to give it the worst beating in its entire life. Sadly the beating seemed to have no effect, and Johana hit it with her flaming spear, wounding it. Kat finished it off like it was the last doughnut.
 
We searched the townhouse for clues, and found the deed and some financial records. The clues pointed us towards the Seventh Sawmill. Johana and Kat knew where it was. At the sawmill we wandered around and killed a lot of cultists.
 
We went to the ancient tower and started searching. We encountered a golem. Inuyasha killed it after it managed to ambush us, wounding me greatly and a few others. After that, I considered the stairs up to the top, the distance, and how dangerous they looked. That danger was pretty much guaranteed with how fat Kat has gotten. I did not want to walk up all of those stairs so I teleported us up. Amusingly, we popped in above and behind some cultist faceless monster things and killed them. They cut one bell, having it fall down below. Kat cut down the other three, causing a lot of noise and damage to the stairs and what was left of the floors below. So much for being a historical location.
 
We went up some stairs to the rooftop. A demon was flying around in the sky. It felt like we were being set up for a trap. That is what I would have done had I left a big golem and some lame minions to slow down my enemies. I let the whole group see with my arcane sight, and we saw a huge snake-woman, a lamia, trying to set up a kill as she waited in ambush. Too bad for her, we saw her and she was slain fairly quickly.
 
Rather than getting in trouble for breaking the inside of the tower, we got well paid for our efforts to clean up the city a bit.
