Beit Shalom ve-Gibor (BAYT sha-LOHM veh-GEE-bohr)

David and Eshu's Home

Eshu
Nestled where the ancient, moss-covered woods of Tir na nOg meet the vibrant, blossoming meadows, the shared home of David and Eshu, known as Beit Shalom ve-Gibor, serves as a sanctuary where spiritual peace and vibrant energy converge. This home embodies the essence of King David’s reflective wisdom and Eshu’s spirited athleticism, creating a space where cultural depth meets physical expression.   The architecture of Beit Shalom ve-Gibor reflects a harmonious blend of historical and organic motifs. The structure features robust, stone foundations that echo the enduring legacy of David’s ancient reign, complemented by flowing, graceful lines that mirror the agile movements characteristic of Eshu’s gymnastics. Expansive windows and open terraces invite the natural light and serene sounds of the surrounding forest, enhancing the practices of music and movement housed within.   Inside, the home is divided into areas that cater to their respective arts while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. David’s space includes a grand music room lined with ancient relics and instruments, including spaces dedicated to his beloved lyre and harp. This room also serves as a library, where he immerses himself in scriptures and historical texts, surrounded by artifacts that inspire his music and teachings.   Adjacent to this, Eshu’s area is designed as a vibrant, open studio with mirrored walls and a specialized floor suitable for gymnastics. The decor incorporates Yoruba cultural elements, featuring vibrant textiles and artwork that celebrate his heritage and the art of movement. Large doors open directly to the natural landscapes of Tir na nOg, allowing Eshu to extend his practice into the outdoors where he feels deeply connected to the world.
