Tógáil (TOH-gahl)

Cuauhtémoc, Eliezer and Leif's Home

The home of Eliezer Ben-Ami, Leif Köhler, and Cuauhtémoc Xochipilli, named **Tógáil** (meaning "grow" in Irish Celtic), is constructed with a mix of sturdy stone and intricately carved wood, reflecting Leif's Norse and Celtic roots, while the decorative elements draw from the rich traditions of Canaanite and Aztec art.   Upon entering Tógáil, visitors are greeted by a spacious, open-plan living area filled with natural light streaming through large, stained-glass windows. These windows depict scenes from the myths and legends of each partner's heritage, casting colorful patterns across the room as the sun moves throughout the day. The walls are adorned with vibrant murals painted by Cuauhtémoc, bringing the space to life with depictions of Aztec gods, Canaanite deities, and Norse warriors. Eliezer's touch is evident in the numerous plants and herbs placed throughout the home, creating a serene and healthful environment.   The heart of Tógáil is its expansive garden, a collaborative masterpiece where each partner's influence is clearly visible. Leif's influence is seen in the strong, towering trees and hardy northern plants that provide structure and shade. Cuauhtémoc's vibrant flowers and medicinal plants add bursts of color and fragrance, attracting a variety of wildlife. Eliezer's meticulous arrangement of herbs and healing plants ensures that the garden is not only beautiful but also functional. Paths of smooth stones wind through the garden, leading to secluded spots perfect for quiet contemplation or intimate gatherings.   In addition to the garden, Tógáil boasts a state-of-the-art workshop where Leif and Cuauhtémoc channel their building and crafting talents. Here, they create everything from practical tools and furniture to intricate sculptures and decorative items. The workshop is a place of creativity and collaboration, filled with the sound of hammers, saws, and laughter as they work together on their projects. Eliezer often joins them, offering advice on the medicinal properties of different woods and plants, ensuring that their creations are both beautiful and beneficial. Tógáil is more than just a house; it is a living, growing testament to the partnership and shared dreams of its inhabitants.
