La recherche dans le marais voisin du chantier permet la découverte de 3 fermiers fuyant un monstre impressionnant, que Karl et Rayaar terrasseront. Sans doute le monstre qui a tué Rutger Reuter ?. De retour au camp, ils apprennent que Thulgrim a fui vers Altdorf avec les finances du chantier. Rayaar et Karl partent à sa poursuite. Ils passeront une nuit dans une auberge, relais de diligence. Ils prennent également connaissance d'une affiche On recherche des aventuriers courageux .
A search of the marshes near the construction site leads to the discovery of 3 farmers fleeing from an impressive monster, which Karl and Rayaar bring down. Probably the monster that killed Rutger Reuter?
Back at the camp, they learn that Thulgrim has fled to Altdorf with the site's finances. Rayaar and Karl set off in pursuit. They spend the night in a coaching inn. They also read a poster Courageous adventurers wanted .
La diligence transportant Rayaar, Karl et quelques autres voyageurs sont attaqués par des mutants sur la route vers Altdorf. Après le combat, ils trouvent des traces d'une autre attaque de diligence dont le corps de Kastor Lieberung , beneficiaire d'un héritage à percevoir à Bögenhafen . The stagecoach carrying Rayaar, Karl and a few other travellers is attacked by mutants on the way to Altdorf. After the fight, they find traces of another stagecoach attack, one of which is the body of Kastor Lieberung , the beneficiary of an inheritance to be collected in Bögenhafen .
It turns out that Karl looks a lot like Kastor...
A l'arrivée à Altdorf, Karl est accosté par deux étranges personnages qui lui font des gestes bizarres (qui s'averera plus tard être le mode de communication de La Main Pourpre ). Après quelques instants, le duo s'ecplisse et disparait derriere un homme trapu. Ils assistent également au passage d'une procession militaire menée par Karl Franz I .
Karl et Rayaar reprennent donc leur quete de Thulgrim: Ils le retrouvent dans une auberge sur les quais du Reik. Le nain explique avoir pris l'argent en compensation de s'être fait arnaqué par Rutger Reuter et Johanna Stiegler . Les deux aventuriers le laisseront partir avec la plus grande partie de l'argent.
Rayaar rencontre également Josef Quartjin , un vieil ami batelier, qui s'apprete à partir vers Bögenhafen . La fin de la soirée est troublée par une altercation avec de jeunes nobles.
On arrival in Altdorf, Karl is approached by two strange characters who make bizarre gestures at him (which be later found out to be La Main Pourpre mode of communication). After a few moments, the pair disappear behind a stocky man.
They also witness a military procession led by Karl Franz I .
Karl and Rayaar resume their search for Thulgrim: They find him in an inn on the banks of the Reik. The dwarf explains that he took the money as compensation for being ripped off by Rutger Reuter and Johanna Stiegler . The two adventurers let him leave with most of the money.
Rayaar also meets Josef Quartjin , an old friend and boatman, who is about to leave for Bögenhafen . The end of the evening is disrupted by an altercation with some young noblemen.
Les aventuriers arrivent à Weissbruck .
Durant la nuit, ils sont attaqués par un trio mené par Adolfus Kuftsos. . Le combat qui s'en suivra verra la mort de deux des assaillants et la fuite du troisième. The adventurers arrive in Weissbruck .
During the night, they are attacked by a trio led by Adolfus Kuftsos .
The ensuing battle saw the death of two of the assailants and the escape of the third. Thanks to the papers found on his body, Rayaar and Karl realise that Adolphus is a bounty hunter in pursuit of Kastor Lieberung who appears to be part of a secret organisation.

Pour se consoler, ils vont à la Schaffenfest qui vient d'ouvrir. Ils y rencontrent Elvyra Kleinestun herboriste amicale venant de Weissbruck . Ils décident de libérer Grunni , nain alcoolisé au pilori.
Ils finissent leur visite en assistant au spectacle de monstres du Dr Malthusius .Soudain,devant un auditoire appeuré, un gobelin à 3 pattes s'échappe en passant par un petit soupirail menant aux égouts. Le juge Heinz Richter demandera à Karl et Rayaar de le ramener.
Rayaar and Karl arrive in Bögenhafen . Their search of the notary's office for the inheritance of Kastor Lieberung turns up nothing: probably a trap?
To console themselves, they go to the Schaffenfest, which has just opened. There they meet Elvyra Kleinestun a friendly herbalist from Weissbruck . They decide to free Grunni , an alcoholic dwarf from the pillory.
They finish their visit by attending the monster show organised by Dr Malthusius Suddenly, in front of an appalled audience, a 3-legged goblin escapes through a small window leading to the sewers. The judge Heinz Richter will ask Karl and Rayaar to bring him back.

Le prince héritier Hergard von Tasseninck disparait lors d'une expédition dans les montagnes grises. Son père Hans-Hals von Tasseninck reproche à Gustav von Krieglitz , Grand Duc du Talabecland de l'avoir fait assassiner, pour fragiliser l'Ostland et pouvoir prendre le controle de ses forets. Crown Prince Hergard von Tasseninck disappears during an expedition to the Grey Mountains. His father Hans-Hals von Tasseninck blames Gustav von Krieglitz, Grand Duke of Talabecland for having him murdered, in order to weaken Ostland and take control of its forests.
Les aventuriers s'avancent des les égouts. Après quelques mésaventures, ils découvrent un mysterieux temple où le gobelin semble avoir été dévoré (ils y trouvent des os de bassins avec 3 jambes) et portant une mysterieuse inscription Ordo Septenarius . Ils y sont attaqués par un démon et prennent la fuite. Toujours dans les égouts, ils trouvent également le corps de Grunni , sans coeur.
De retour auprès du juge Heinz Richter , celui-ci leur annonce que le corps du gobelin a déjà été retrouvé dans l'entrepot de la Famille Steinhäger
The adventurers head into the sewers. After a few misadventures, they discover a mysterious temple where the goblin seems to have been devoured (they find the bones of 3-legged basins) and bearing a mysterious inscription Ordo Septenarius . There they are attacked by a demon and flee. Still in the sewers, they also find the heartless body of Grunni.
Back at the judge Heinz Richter , he tells them that the goblin's body has already been found in the Steinhäger Family warehouse.
Rayaar et Karl commencent leurs recherches sur l'Ordo Septenarius auprès du temple de Verena . Ils rencontreront également Friedrich Magirius , le chef de la guilde des marchands. Ils apprendront qu'il s'agit d'une organisation semi-secrete de riches habitants.
Ils rencontreront aussi Johannes Teugen , conseiller municipal et marchand, qu'ils accuseront (injustement9 d'être un vampire.
Plus tard dans la soirée, ils découvriront que Heinz Richter est tombé malade soudainement.
Rayaar and Karl begin their research into the Ordo Septenarius at the temple of Verena . They will also meet Friedrich Magirius , the head of the merchants' guild. They will learn that this is a semi-secret organisation of wealthy locals.
They also meet Johannes Teugen , a town councillor and merchant, whom they (unfairly) accuse of being a vampire.
Later that evening, they discover that Heinz Richter has suddenly fallen ill.
Ce matin là, Friedrich Magirius se confie et , pris de remords, avoue qu'un rituel de l'Ordo Septenarius est prévu le soir même, avec un sacrifice humain.
Rayaar et Karl poursuivent leur recherche jusqu'en fin d'après midi, quand ils retournent voir Magirius. En arrivant chez lui, ils découvrent qu'il vient d'être assassiné. Un de ses domestiques appelle à l'aide en accusant les deux aventuriers.
Ceux-ci ne peuvent que fuir pour éviter d'être arreter.
Arrivés à l'entrepot ou le rituel aura lieu, ils se glissent discretement à l'intérieur et l'interrompront.
Ils combattront Gidéon un démon multi-forme (le domestique de Magirius vu un peu plus tot) et Johannes Teugen . La confrontation se terminera par la disparition du démon dans les limbes et la mort de Johannes Teugen . Le reste de l'Ordo Septenarius fuira dans l'incendie qui détruira l'entrepot et se propagera à une partie de la ville.
Recherchés, Rayaar et Karl quittent précipitemment la ville sur le Bérébéli de Josef Quartjin .
Une fois à bord, ils retrouvemt Klaus Magirius, domestique et demi-frère de feu Friedrich Magirius . Il leur remettra des documents, volés chez Teugen, qui indiquent la responsabilité d'une certaine Etelka, ainsi qu'une recommendation pour demander de l'aide à Hieronymus Blitzen, à Altdorf. Karl et Rayaar acceptent cette demande de vengeance.
That morning, Friedrich Magirius confides and, overcome with remorse, confesses that a ritual of the Ordo Septenarius is planned for that very evening, involving a human sacrifice.
Rayaar and Karl continue their search until late afternoon, when they return to see Magirius. When they arrive at his house, they discover that he has just been murdered. One of his servants calls for help, accusing the two adventurers.
They have no choice but to flee to avoid arrest.
Arriving at the warehouse where the ritual is to take place, they sneak inside and interrupt it.
They will fight Gideon a multi-form demon (Magirius' servant seen earlier) and Johannes Teugen . The confrontation ends with the demon disappearing into limbo and the death of Johannes Teugen . The rest of the Ordo Septenarius fled in the fire, which destroyed the warehouse and spread to part of the town.
Wanted, Rayaar and Karl leave the city in a hurry on Josef Quartjin's Berebel.
Once on board, they find Klaus Magirius, servant and half-brother of the late Friedrich Magirius . He gives them some documents stolen from Teugen's house, which show that a certain Etelka is involved, as well as a recommendation to ask Hieronymus Blitzen in Altdorf for help. Karl and Rayaar accept this request for revenge.
Josef Quartjin demande à Karl et Rayaar de quitter le Bérébéli pour éviter les soucis avec la justice.
Durant leur marche vers le nord, ils découvriront une barge tout juste attaquée par deux mutants. Karl et Rayaar les tueront et prendront possession du navire, en accord avec les règles en vigueur. Ils y trouveront une passagère Renate Hausier et une cargaison de laine.
Le soir venu, ils s'arretent près d'une auberge, ou la Gravin Maria Ulrike von Liebwitz d’Ambosstein et sa suite ont décidé de passer la nuit.
Karl, dormant seul dans l'auberge, sera accusé du meurtre du champion judiciaire de la noble voyageur avant de confondre durant la nuit la vraie assassin.

On their way north, they come across a barge that has just been attacked by two mutants. Karl and Rayaar kill them and take possession of the ship, in accordance with the rules in force. They find a passenger Renate Hausier and a cargo of wool.
In the evening, they stop near an inn, where Gravin Maria Ulrike von Liebwitz d'Ambosstein and her retinue have decided to spend the night.
Karl, sleeping alone in the inn, is accused of the murder of the noble traveller's judicial champion before confronting the real assassin during the night.

La Gravin is the niece of Emmanuelle Liebwitz and the von Dammenblatz family blame her for the death of their patriarch.
Unfortunately, the duel ends in Karl's defeat and a heavy fine for the Gravin.

The day after the lost duel, Rayaar and Karl's barge arrives in Weissbruck .
Karl is once again attacked by two men who make strange gestures (as they did in Altdorf two weeks earlier).
They decide to visit Elvyra Kleinestun but find her house empty, in disarray with a little girl Liza Sauber hiding in the cellar. It transpires that Elvyra has been kidnapped.

Leur attaque laissera les trois ravisseurs sur le carreaux, sans que les raisons de cet enlevements soient clairement expliqués. Karl and Rayaar are investigating the disappearance of Elvyra Kleinestun . In one of the inns in Weissbruck , they meet up with one of Adolfus Kuftsos' , a bounty hunter who lost his life attacking the Berebeli. He tells them that Kastor Lieberung was a member of a sect The Purple Hand . The duo also learn that Elvyra is being held in a red barn north of the town. Their attack leaves the three kidnappers on edge, with no clear explanation as to why.
Voyage vers Altdorf depuis Weissbruck
Après avoir accosté à Altdorf , Renate remercie et prend congé de Rayaar et Karl qui vont passer une partie de la soirée dans une taverne.
Le lendemain matin est consacré à la vente des sacs de laine trouvé dans l'ERH au marché de la ville. Puis vient le temps de partir à la recherche de Heironymous Blitzen . Le sorcier habite dans le quartier de l'université avec son apprenti.
Il apprend au duo qu'Etelka Herzen est une sorcière de triste réputation, résidant à Grissenwald, près de Nuln. Elle serait également membre d'un groupuscule: La Couronne Rouge .
Karl décide de profiter de l'occasion pour avouer à l'érudit son souhait de devenir aussi magicien. Heyronymous, flatté, décide d'accepter de prendre un nouvel élève.
After docking at Altdorf, Renate thanks and says goodbye to Rayaar and Karl, who spend part of the evening in a tavern.
The next morning is devoted to selling the bags of wool found in the ERH at the town market. Then it's time to set off in search of Heironymous Blitzen . The sorcerer lives in the university district with his apprentice.
He tells the pair that Etelka Herzen is a witch of ill repute, living in Grissenwald, near Nuln. She is also said to be a member of a small group: The Red Crown . [Karl decides to take the opportunity to confess to the scholar his desire to also become a magician. Heyronymous was flattered and agreed to take on a new apprentice.

L'EHR est stoppé dans son voyage par deux travailleurs nains qui cherchent à quitter le chantier d'une tour à signaux, le long du Reik.Aynjulls Isembart convainc Karl, Rayaar et Olaf Sievers d'investiguer sur les evenements qui impactent la construction. Durant la nuit, le trio est attaqué par une goule et s'introduisent dans le sous sol de la tour. Ils y trouvent 5 zombies agressifs, chacun portant une clé en forme d'étoile... mais la salle centrale contient 6 serrures de cette forme. Les autres salles contiennent des livres, certains concernant des sortilèges de réanimation à base de malepierre, ou des documents sur la lune Morrslieb et son orbite. The EHR is stopped in its tracks by two dwarf workers trying to leave the construction site of a signal tower along the Reik. Aynjulls Isembart convinces Karl, Rayaar and Olaf Sievers to investigate the events affecting the construction. During the night, the trio are attacked by a ghoul and break into the tower's basement. There they find 5 aggressive zombies each of them having a star shaped keys...but there are 6 locks of this shape in the central room. Other roomes contain books, some of them about reanimation spells using warpstone, or documents about Morrslieb and its orbit.
Arrivée à Kemperbad où ils rencontre le Comte Otto Boorman venu en mission de controle des taxes. Après quelques achats, ils rencontrent Vern Hendrick qui leur propose de venir enqueter au Grunewald Lodge que vient d'acquérir Rickard Aschaffenberg. Après avoir fait ses adieux à Colonel Olaf Sievers , le duo se met en route. En arrivant au Lodge, leur diligence est attaquée par des hommes-bêtes portant l'insigne de la La Couronne Rouge. They arrive in Kemperbad where they meet Count Otto Boorman who has come on a tax inspection mission. After some shopping, they meet Vern Hendrick who suggests they come and investigate at the Grunewald Lodge that Rickard Aschaffenberg has just acquired. After bidding farewell to Colonel Olaf Sievers , the duo set off. On arriving at the Lodge, their coach is attacked by beast-men wearing the insignia of the The Red Crown.

After the meal, Karl and Rayaar witness a ritual organised by some of the servants on the Grenwald Lodge estate. Their intervention disrupts the incantation and a weakened demon is summoned. The three cult leaders, Gregor Pierson, Albrecht and Doctor Siegler, are put out of action.

A leur arrivée à Grissenwald , Karl et Rayaar se renseignent sur Etelka Herzen . Après quelques discussions, ils apprennent que la magicienne à acheter la mine des Crêtes noires au sud du village aux nains, il y a trois ans de cela. Afin de chercher de l'aide pour leur expéditions, ils sollicitent Gorim Greathammer . Ils retrouvent à cette occasion Thulgrim qui se joint à eux, ainsi que Gert homme à tout faire du coin. On arrival at Grissenwald , Karl and Rayaar enquire about Etelka Herzen . After some discussion, they learn that the magician bought the Black Peaks mine from the dwarves three years ago , at the south of the village . To seek help for their expeditions, they solicit Gorim Greathammer . There, they meet again with Thulgrim who joins them, as well as Gert local handyman.

The small group enters the Black Ridge Tower and discovers that it has been colonized by goblins from the nearby mine. There they meet Dumpling, the cook working for Etelka Herzen: she is killed in one of the battles. Thulgrim will also be seriously injured, losing an eye. After capturing Gutbag , the goblin chief, they realize that Etelka has already left the place, heading for a place called the barren hills.

Le lendemain matin, ils assistent à l’arrestation dramatique d’un hérétique présumé , adorateur d'Ulric par un prêtre de Sigmar .Intrigués par des perturbations magiques, ils rencontrent Angela Hedamme dans la foret au sud du village, une herboriste mystérieuse, et décident de la convaincre de venir avec eux vers les collines stériles pour poursuivre Etelka.
After battling goblins in Etelka Herzen , Rayaar Haha and Karl Maka return to Grissenwald with their companions. There, they hand over Gutbag to Gorim Greathammer. The next morning, they witness the dramatic arrest of a suspected heretic, worshipper of Ulric by a priest of Sigmar . Intrigued by magical disturbances, they meet Angela Hedamme in the forest south of the village, a mysterious herbalist, and decide to persuade her to come with them to the barren hills to pursue Etelka.

Le groupe navigue sur le Stir puis s'engage vers le Nord sur la rivière Narn. Ils y trouvent le cadavre d'un cheval flottant à la surface. Sans doute celui de l'expedition d'Etelka Herzen The group sails on the Stir, then heads north on the River Narn. They find the corpse of a horse floating on the surface. No doubt it belonged to Etelka Herzen's expedition.
