Landslide District

Overview

When the city of Novus fell, large swaths of the city were burried within the ground of Mount Abregoth. Massive efforts were taken to uncover districts that were completely burried under stone and earth.

The Landslide District was substantially covered during this time. Efforts were officially put into place to attempt to uncover it, however seismic instability in the Mount Abregoth caused frequent rockslides and landslides, causing advancement on this goal to be slow.

A collection of enterprising dwarves came up with a solution. Rather than constantly clearing the landslides, leave the rock and earth and establish the district underneath it. Using their knowledge of tunneling and burrowing, these efforts paid off

Today, the Landslide district is home to the largest collection of dwarven populations in Novus. Being on the land side of Mount Abregoth and connected to the mountain through this area, many expeditions that set out to explore both Mount Abregoths peaks and depths start here. A complex network of tunnels can be found from here, some connecting to lower levels. These tunnels are often used to smuggle goods between levels, though they are not without their own dangers.

The Landslide District is somewhat controversial to this day. The Deerai Collective sees the burried district as a barrier to progress on the goal of eventualling having Novus fly again. Dwarven autonomy supporters gather here, vocal about their growing disdain for the Brass Ring of Novus. Vocal, faithful supports of Bregoure flock to the Landslide district to feel a sense of closeness to their god and to congregate in worship at temples devoted to him.
