Personal history
In 1943, Yukimura Noshiko performed Kitsune-tsuki, summoning The Nogitsune to help her avenge the murders of innocent prisoners in Oak Creek.
Rather than posessing Noshiko, as she had intended, it chose to possess the corpse of her lover, Rhys Maxon, who had been killed in the rioting.
In that form, it massacred the remaining staff and prisoners in the camp. In order to stop the killing, Noshiko and Ito Satomi fought the Nogitsune, and succeeded in destroying its physical body. Noshiko then trapped its spirit in a jar, and buried beneath The California Nemeton.
