Midnight's Journal: After Broken

"A rather noisy night tonight"
 
"Apparently a piece of the sub's engine went messing. I hadn't heard anything but offered to send my shadow to go look for it if they couldn't find any other information. Turns out it wasn't needed however. Works out for me. I'm a little short on magical energy at the moment. Maybe I should make that a future project, figure out how we can more reliably source restoratives for magical energy. We'll see. I'm sure there will be people I can talk to."
 
"Anyways, that aside, apparently the search also resulted in a bomb going off in the Captain's home. Attracted the attention of much of the crew. Thankfully no one was killed but still, I don't particularly appreciate someone trying to kill the Captain. Going to need to find out who did that. Wasn't there also a bomb that went off a while back at that hotel? I wonder if it's related. Could be entirely separate though. Bombs aren't my expertise and I suspect we weren't exactly great about collecting evidence of either incident. The crew is a bit cavalier and nonchalant about this kind of stuff to a sometimes frustrating degree. I'm concerned it's going to get someone killed. Maybe I should take it upon myself to look into it next time an incident happens."
 
"Anyways, ultimately we became focused on fixing up the Captain's place. Most of us don't really work with architectural construction though and with the Captain's irritation? I wasn't going to let any of that anger get directed my way. I went and woke up the construction crew working on the stadium since I knew they worked with the Captain in the past. I'm sure I owe them a favor at some point because of it, but small price for making sure the Captain is happy. Turned out great too from what I could tell. I was half worried there were going to be scratching posts everywhere or weird spider stuff with the way Seth was talking."
 
"Speaking of which, found out today that Seth is scared of ghosts. See, Royce returned from the mission via a head he apparently possessed and was flung all the way from Parliament City. Was worried they blew up the airship but apparently everything is good. They got the missing part back and everything apparently. Anyways, yeah, can't entirely blame Seth being scared of ghosts. Some of the particularly powerful ones are the most lethal creatures you can face if not necessarily the strongest. I can attest to that personally. A little concerned though what he might think of me in regards to the implications of my weakness to holy water. In particular how essentially a part of myself disappeared for a time. While I'm all but certain that I have demonic blood in my veins because of that event, I could see it having ghostly implications to others."
 
"Eh, probably fine. He saw me summon my shadow beast, right? Probably twice even if he was around during that first White Cap attack. What would be scarier from that perspective then that?"
