Can't believe I missed out on a vampire hunt... I never actually got to hunt down a vampire before.
Will say though, the world we ended up was quite strange. When the nightmares first came, I imagined he'd be dealing with an attack on our town. Instead, we ended up going through the rift above the city and ended up in a world where our perspectives and appearance changed greatly. How to explain it... like normally a person perceives things in terms of length, width and depth? Well take out the depth, at least in the normal sense, and that was almost what we were dealing with? It was... strange. Not as strange as our defense of the town though from the airship.
While a team went hunting the vampire, we fought a bunch of ghosts and bats in the sky. And a red spider on a moon. How we even reached that spider with our attacks is absolutely beyond me. Seemed like it'd be a reasonable challenge, but well... I loaded the cannons with grapeshot, making taking care of the swarms easy. Next I actually decided it was time to test out a kite I made in my off time. It was the first I made myself, figured that it was about time to take advantage of that experience, especially as the spider began dropping eggs on the village. So I flew. I flew straight for one of the eggs and sliced it up nice and good while the others took care of the other, the swarm, and struck at the spider. We were decimating the attacking force. Still the spider stood. I was considering trying a powerful spell I hadn't really utilized before to help finish it off, but a harpoon was shot from the ship followed by a powerful electrical strike, finishing it off.
Definitely some impressive work, I must say. I keep finding myself more and more impressed with the skills and abilities of those I work with.
This world absolutely is awful though. Killing such an incredible beast and it didn't even leave anything behind as a trophy? I love the unique challenge presented in such a place, but it could have been so much better. Least we got some payment out of it. Not sure what to use my money on yet, probably going to keep on saving for that project I talked to Lio about.
