"Where to even begin with this one. Honestly I feel like I've been through an emotional rollercoaster today. Getting that call for assistance from Geri, Marigold and the Council of Roses being under attack, and battling with my emotions pretty hard the entire way."
"I suppose the beginning. I was on the beach training grounds, training, fishing and waiting for word from Geri. It's around the time I got that fish I'm currently picking through to find out its uses and the black pearl inside it. The Black Dog shadow wasn't a fan of it, that's for sure. Fair enough I suppose, it seemed to have nightmare origins. I made a point to turn that over to the Mysticians for now. Maybe I can use it in my project for making a true hunter weapon for myself, or given the shadow of mine with Cash ate an ungodly amount of nightmare, maybe it can eventually be used to bolster my shadow. Make me fully in control. Of course I'm not going to rush into it. Rather the Mysticians give me the full rundown before I do anything with it."
"Around that time Cass and Tarkus showed up and we got a call from Geri. Folksong was asking for help. In particular the guild. Geri even suggested in might be a good way to get in good with the guild again given what I did. Probably fat chance of that unless we send a restored copy of the book I recovered back to them. We weren't able to get there as quick as planned as Osiria had received a call from Gaia's Garden about an attack. I admit, I relished the chance to return there. Recover the sword my father made me, make sure that the magic within it didn't go crazy. If things were less immediately dire though, I certainly would have pushed for Geri's task first for the sake of Folksong relations and the like. However, I can't ignore lives in peril. It's not in my nature. And Osiria was pretty insistent. And well... anyways, moving on."
"We got to Folksong and discovered the problem pretty quick. Folksong was locked into night and it was triggering transformations in people. It agitated the Black Dog though I kept it under control. Osiria however grew fangs. FANGS of all things. I didn't even know she had such a transformation. It was magnificent! Or it would be but her temper was off the entire time. So was Tarkus. I've never seen him so brutal. It's weird being the one most in control. Though Cass had things handled well too. Anyways, we tracked to Court of Roses right to Flower's lair, who was looking particularly savage. Riddle & Rhyme were there too, getting their asses kicked. Tarkus blinded Flower, I smacked a poison apple into their mouth, and Osiria and Cass got the finishing blows in. We even managed to save a member of Riddle & Rhyme that was eaten. That said, Tarkus and Osiria were a bit reckless with Riddle & Rhyme. We saved them, but I doubt they'll be appreciative. Especially since we screwed up carving Flower and stunk up the cave. The smell would keep them safe but it was rather disgusting to the point I dived into the water. We weren't going to be able to salvage anything in that st- SON OF A BITCH! I could have seen if I could have used the cleaning slime. That stuff was able to deal with pretty much any mess! I'm an idiot."
"Besides the point. We learned from Marigold that there was likely an anomaly to the north causing all this. Right around where our other task was. We rushed there as quickly as possible to find the trading post fully burned. It was unfortunate, but I'm not going to place property over lives. A roar of challenge came from Geoff the dragon at his tower, causing Osiria to run off, leaving little time for a plan, but it worked out. Cass went immediately to deal with the anomaly, I tried to restrain Geoff and Tarkus and Osiria... got carried away. Tarkus ripping a chunk of his scales out with his shots and Osiria turning into a strange wolf and ripping right through him, eating Geoff's heart. Worse, Osiria lost themselves. I opted to deal with the anomaly due to its closure being what was needed to solve this, and Cass was being slower than I'd like. He hadn't received much training with anomalies but I had my past experience with Rifts to draw from, so with him receiving instruction from Catori and myself aiding, we did manage to close it up. Not before Tarkus and Osiria knocked each other out however. Kind of didn't leave us a lot of time to deal with Geoff's body, so I do request we send a message to Folksong to handle that."
"On the way out however, I did return to the trading post to grab some planks to drag Tarkus, and used an Undo scroll to recover the one book I brought back that needs restoration. That has been turned over to Bonnie at the Captain's request."
"It really is unfortunate Geoff died... he was a victim in all this. Forced to become a monster and rampage. I know it might not be my place as I'm not an officer, but I feel like we need to have words with Osiria and Tarkus to figure out what is going on with them. They've never displayed such feral behavior before."
