"After the crew's mission out in the between, we returned to learn that the group that went to Yoke were put on trial. Not sure how to feel about the prospect but it seems to be water under the bridge as they were found not guilty. We did learn something interesting however. Apparently in Yoke they knew things that were supposed to be forgotten? They claim it's because they record their records on these wax cylinders into an audio format and take photographs."
 
"It's an interesting prospect as it's an idea I toyed with as soon as I learned about the technologies from Lio. Technically sound and pictures aren't writing after all. Though at the same time I had received conflicting statements that all knowledge was recorded on the tree. This means I'm not completely sure about the accuracy of Yoke's statements but it seems to be a start of some sort. It makes me wonder about my conversations with Quet recently. I believe what they told me was spoken from the best of their own knowledge, but perhaps even they don't have the complete picture. Either way, I think I'll take advantage of the possibility from now on in my journals. We've lucked out so far that my writings about the Ice Ban- *ahem* the creatures that I faced back home haven't appeared so far in one of those flowers. I'm still curious why such a thing hasn't occurred. Perhaps there are additional factors."
 
"All of that aside, let's talk about the mission a little. My pet project is working. There was great risk taken in setting them up but we have a chance now. It is incredible to think about. I helped create something that will not only help to protect Liminal but will be able to be used for so many other purposes with a bit more tinkering. Even in my currently diminished state, I can't help but feel a sense of pride burning in my heart. There has been so much I've learned in my time here and all the hard work, the reading, the experimenting, it is all finally paying off. Nilly... Tsoki... Lio... all of you have been such an inspiration to me for just what is possible. I will say however, I'm still convinced they can be improved. Vatna's control over the rifts has definitely helped make me wonder what all the possibilities are. How do those threads of theirs work? Could they provide better ways of securing the buoys? Transmitting signals? Turning them into massive webs to ensnare invaders? Perhaps. However, Vatna is only one moth. To ask all of this of them? It's not exactly reasonable. So I need to consider how to bring the subject up to them, how to make it clear that I don't want to overdo it. There are already two overworking bundles of cuteness to worry about. Let's not create a third."
