Permaglass' Treaties

Permaglass' Treaties or the Principles of War and Peace is a treaty signed in The City of Permaglass as orchestrated by The Bafigron Empire after the horrendous acts of The Seventh Azaraki Peace Wars, by all sides of the conflicts.   Most Polities in Rakion signed those treaties, even if they did not involve themselves in this war (such as the Kingdom of Arasil).   Most cities and embassies have those treaties etched in stone - however not always are the rules followed in the course of wars.   It is also customary for engaging sides to announce beforehand that they wish to follow the Principles of War and Peace, otherwise, none of the side is obligated to follow them.
The Stone of the Treaties
Once a party involved had broken the covenant that they agreed upon in the battle, their sigil, symbol or letters on the stones everywhere in Rakion, begin to gleam in red or yellow for which, all parties are aware of the falsehood that was committed by that party. Once, the party had repaired the damage or judged the people for the breaking of the treatise, those same symbols are again gleaming, only in a calming sense.

Purpose

The Purpose of the treaties is to sort out the bloody wars over Rakion and those who haven't signed the treaties, are not obliged to follow them against other enemies, though it is encouraged that they do.

Public Reaction

When written records of the treaties were gathered by the Andorian Inquisition in the Kadian Invasion of Rakion, they were thought to be a satirical piece of literature. Upon further inspection and interviews with locals, the legitmacy of the treaties was understood. Below is the relevant excerpt from the KMCS's war council: Protocol
12th of Sage's Wisdom
Present:
  • The Divine Legate (D)
  • King of Ader (A)
  • King of Navara (N)
  • King of Saltis (S)
  • Grand Marshal of the ARA (G)
  • High Inquisitors (H)
  • Marshals (M)
  • Rhanil Representative (R)

  • M: We have reason to believe these are actual laws for conduction of war
    D: And that reason is?
    R: We have signed them
    D: That's absurd.
G: We could adopt a similar code
D: No. I would like us to win wars.
N: Your Divine Holiness, diplomatically speaking, this could be wise approach
D: Your Highness, diplomatically speaking, we are at war.
S: Some of the clauses here are outright ridiculous. "Cessation of Battle at Sunset"?
A: I would also like to point out the implied chauvenism in this treaty. Why do women require protection but men do not?
S: "Engaging with Equal Status"? This clause outright forbids military advantage! We should continue expanding westwards until we are stopped!
D: No. We have yet to conquer all that we were promised. Grand Marshal, see to it that none of our units adopt this farce. That applies to our new allies as well.
G: We shall adhere to your decrees, His Divine Holiness.
D: High Inquisitors, have all but two copies of these treaties stored in the Cathedral Archives.
H: By His Grace we shall persevere.
