Arthrypt Wetlands
The Arthrypt Wetlands are a swampy region to the west of The Great Forest. Home mostly to the reclusive Pogonians, the region is characterised by its thick forest and swampy ground. The natives tend to be hostile and keep to themselves, as such there is no trade and few travellers pass through. The region is very dangerous as giant arthropods, monsters and even the plants prowl the area hunting anything unfortunate enough to cross their path.
There are only two settlements in the wetlands, Barguluk and Gurk.
Geography
The Arthrypt Wetlands is a huge, partially blighted swamp forest, with the Karagors Mountain Range to the north, The Great Forest to the east, The Deadlands to the west and Faramel's Prairie to the south. A thick layer of fog sits about a foot deep throughout most of the region, concealing the paths and bog on the ground, making it a treacherous region to travel through.
The wetlands are home to a strong magical aura that leads to an unusual natural phenomenon only seen here and on The Isle of Monsters. The magical aura causes some species to grow to huge sizes leading to various giant arthopods and occassionally makes tears between dimensions, opening up portals to other realms which various creatures pass through.Fauna & Flora
