East Sahlabao Desert

The Sahlabao Desert is a vast area in the southernmost part of Meintalia. It is split into two by a giant cliff face that flows from the southern ridge of The Great Ravine. The Eastern Sahlabao Desert is for the most part devoid of life, other than the Sahlakah and Humans that live in the two settlements in the region and the monsters that inhabit The Sand Sea. There are several ruins in the area, mostly of ancient towns, villages and castles, but there are two in particular worth noting: The Ruined Temple south of the oasis, and The Sandstone Fortress that sits in Sahlabao's Bluff on the western edge of the Sand Sea.

The Eastern side of the Sahlabao Desert is governed by Sultan Aban Ishraq who resides in the capitol, Sahlakaoleh, which sits on the border between the two halves of the desert. The only other settlements in the region are Oasum and Minao Sahbum.

Geography

The eastern side of the desert is mostly flat, bordering the coast. The western border is marked by a sheer cliff face that runs from The Great Ravine in the north right down through to Sashakar south of Meintalia. Most of the region is taken up by The Sand Sea, a vast area of ever shifting sand dunes.

Fauna & Flora

The desert is arid and doesn't support a lot of life as the things that live here have to survive high temperatures with little water. Whilst the area's near settlements tend to be safe, The Sand Sea and areas around the various ruins are extremely dangerous with many predators willing to take any meal they can find.
