Belun's Bog
Belun's Bog lies on the eastern coast of Rhondam. It was once formed from a dried out lake and a lot of decaying plant matter. A few centuries ago, with the Tear happening, the water levels shifted upwards and parts of the bog flooded, turning it into a partial saltwater marshland with the tide.
Fauna & Flora
Most plants that life around the bog are different lines of fungi, mosses and smaller shrubs. Pitcher plants, sundew and other carnivorous plants also evolved and adapted perfectly to the life in the nutrient poor soil. Blue- and cranberries also adapted to the life in more acidic ground, together with beautiful orchids and water lilies, and even some small evergreen trees.
The most common animals seen in and around the bog are muskrats, hares, beavers and moose as well as turtles, frogs and a lot of insects and insect eating birds.
Natural Resources
Peat is one of the largest natural resources in the bog. Its gets harvested as fuel for furnaces and ovens, as well as used for the brewing of alcohol, giving it a very unique and smoky flavour.
