Dalanzangad

Dalanzangad, also known as the city of stone, is the capital of Hlífjall and located deep inside the land, surrounded by hills and mountainsides. Half of the city is located below the surface, spread out between various entrances and connected by tunnels. Shafts to the surface allow a better air circulation and the addition of some natural light below ground. An above ground river is fed into a man made underground channel, supplying the city with fresh water. The stones mined to hollow out the mountains were used to built up the city above ground, offering more space for a fast growing population and an alternative space to live for clans that favor the sunlight.
