The water might completely retreat, leaving the riverbed dry. The Mana Tree will take a big hit and is not able to keep its magical effect of permanent summer up, throwing the area into its first ever winter. This would be the start of the campaign.
Previous roosting place of Isidar, the Avalanche, which provided water for the Mana Tree of Eversummer. With the retreat of the dragon to the Frozen Lake the majority of ice which melted from the warmth of the region, the magic infused river started receding.
