Temple of the Vanquished
When the Elves longing for new land started pushing more and more into the swampland, the local Orc tribes were opposing them with all forces. Even though the knowledge of the lay of land gave them an advantage in the beginning, their unknowing of the arcane arts broke their backs in the end and they needed to leave everything behind. Many perished during this "small" racial war. The Temple of the Vanquished was the last orcish location to fall and being abandoned, before they were finally driven into the barren wastelands to the north.
Today, most of the orcish buildings still stand and remain nearly untouched. The elves left the temple intact out of respect to the unknown gods that were worshipped here.
