Journey's End
All arcane creatures are hearing the call of the Mists when their end is coming closer. The raw and wild magic is calling for its kind to be returned. Many wizards are just really bad in judging the time of their end, so they began their journey too early. While the first ones were just waiting in the Garden of Bones for their deaths, their descendants didn't want to go the same way... they wanted to go with more style, so one day, three grey ones waiting to depart into the afterlife, decided to build a better place for themselves. They found a cave system which was seemingly unused and filled with untamed magic - Journey's End was founded.
Over time more and more wizards started building their "retirement homes" here, every single one looking different. Some were floating upside down houses, others were just platforms, giant chess boards... anything they could imagine. They started hiding the place behind a magical labyrinth filled with riddles, only slightly crazy old men (and women) would be able to come up with. An ongoing daily contest of the "most wizard"-anything was also born, where everyone is trying to outdo each other. What else would you do with all your freetime? Most wizard fashion, most wizard spells, the most wizard breakfast. If you can name it you will probably find it here.
The 'major' of the magical city is named Emazz Amazz, the only magically gifted Human in this world besides his father Anteus Esteban himself, but none of the two knew about this relationship. Emazz is easily noticeable in his bright red robes, with a cape and tall pointy hat embroidered with golden stars of all sizes, that glitter in the faintest of lights - or casting one of his very complex spells (using many very exclusive components, even thought in theory none of them are of any real use).
