Junktown
Junktown is a large city in southern California, and one of the founders of the New California Republic. Junktown started a trade partner for Shady Sands, and continued to be one as of 2300. When Baja was founded, Junktown became a way stop between the food centers to the south, and the rest of the Republic. Junktown once tried to compete with Baja in food production, in an attempt to help stave off the starvation problem facing the Republic, but it failed horribly when one of their largest landowners left for the Mojave Wasteland seeking fortune. Junktown attempted to start using the land, but it was bought by another Brahmin Baron from Baja, who, as of 2300, left the land unused.
Infrastructure
Junktown, as the name suggests, is made of large amounts of scrap metal and junkyard parts. Some buildings as of 2270 had begun to be built by stucco, but not enough to mask the color and ambiance of rust.
