Barendar

Barendar is the continent of Torvalen north of Kalmasa and south east of Heimval. Its western coast faces the Sea of Torvalen. Its climate ranges from temperate in the large southern peninsula of Koryem to boreal in the country of Yngheim and the Kalmasan colony of Marekar. The long Paryavardhi mountain range dominates the eastern coast down to the northeastern edge of Koryem and meets the gentle Sutberg range in the north, which separates Yngheim from the rest of the continent.

The interior of the island is dominated by lush temperate rainforest that thins towards the coasts. The coasts are dominated by flat, grassy coastal plains, especially in the west and southwest on Koryem. The many rivers that spring from the Paryavardhi join to flow across the middle of the continent as the massive Sampa river that empties into the Gulf of Nirasa. Barendar is the homeland of the mysterious, ancient Dhun, guardians of their great forest home in the Dhun Sanctuaries. Their presence and power have kept most of Barendar unspoiled.
