Kessil (KESS-ill)

Kessil is a region encompassing the northern corner of Balaqalneyis, extending from the northern border with the Creqira and ending roughly on the same latitude as the bottom tip of the Eastern Isle of Iyr. It includes the country's single hard-timber forest and, with its more forgiving and cultivated grassland, hosts the majority of the country's dairy industry.   The region lends its name to not only the Forest, but to the Kessil darter native to the section of the Laqalney River within it, and to the small village of Kessilsat.
