Ironwell

Ironwell is a large town located at the terminus of the Root River, on the western Ustrarian border with Kiva. It is around a day's ride west from Okahn and a relative contemporary of the larger city.

History

Ironwell is perhaps most well-known for the incident that led to the 964AC Quelldraw Act: a crime of passion incited a long chain of violent, firearm-enabled revenge over the course of a single Season that nearly wiped out the entire Quelldraw family, residents of the town. The tragedy prompted mass public outrage and ultimately, through the Act, the outlawing of firearms, enstreng, and related technologies.   During the War of the Six it served as the main hub of the Pact of the Blessèd's western defenses, even if this paled in comparison to those on the southern border due to the lesser concern for a Kivan invasion. The 'Guljebb Detachment' led by Eba-Mulir Joksha Oakwill was dispatched from Ironwell in order for them to take what was essentially the long way around to Fort Guljebb.

Points of interest

The town encompasses the disappearance point of the Root River underground; although its associated caves are not as impressive or significant as others, it has not stopped spelunking or cave-diving, the latter of which more often than not ends in tragedy.
