Hemon (HAY-mun)

Hemon is a small city in eastern Kiva less than a day's northward ride from Baon, situated in the bend of the southeasterly end of the Praethin River. Due to its elevation it is used as a port for trade and transport along the Praethin.
Devatska Acosaphaura departed Kiva for the first time as teenager at Hemon, on her way to Korzhûn.

Demographics

Due to its popularity as a trading post, it is only natural that there is a large concentration of eova in the city, second only to Seishmeb itself.

Industry & Trade

As a port city, most of its wealth comes in the form of property, docking, and trade taxes. As one of the only permanent cities in Kiva, this stability has made it a popular site for similarly-permanent businesses and trades not well-suited to a nomadic lifestyle; it is also the natural destination of goods bound for international trade by water from Seishmeb, and the destination for goods inbound to the capital from other countries (particularly those from farther away, such as Balaqalneyis, where traveling by land would be longer and more laborious).
Part of the Hezar's trade route with koza includes Hemon.
