Jade, being distraught at the loss of her sister, propped her body against a wall so it didn't lie submerged and the party decided that Ruby's death would be meaningless if they didn't continue on their search for the treasure. It wasn't long before the party encountered a room with a single, trapped and locked chest in it. Jade was able to disarm the trap and unlock the chest. Upon opening it, a single letter was found inside with a single sentence upon it. It appeared that the the treasure hunt was nothing more than a hoax. Jade's anger was now boiling over as she began hacking the chest with her sword. As Thomas attempted to make his way into the room and towards the chest, shattering glass could be heard from within. Thomas was able to calm Jade enough to examine the chest and determine there was a false bottom. There was indeed a treasure at the end of this hunt. Seven gemstones, a quiver of arrows, a silver figurine of a raven and several, now broken potion bottles were hidden beneath the false bottom. The party gathered everything and returned to Turtle Bay along with the body of Ruby.
Upon returning to the resort, Jade was able to locate someone who could perform funeral rights the following morning. The party then spent the remainder of the evening celebrating the life and their friendship with Ruby. Jade had quite the evening of imbibing and frolicking with other resort revelers. Shortly before dawn, the party was awakened, Ruby's lifeless body was placed in a small boat and the funeral rights were performed. The boat was set adrift and Thomas fired a flaming arrow to ignite the craft and complete the funeral. After the funeral, the party returned once again to the tavern as the final repairs to the Congenial Bastard were being completed. Mr. Biggins joined the party as he had not yet been given his share of the treasure. Upon him joining the party members, Thomas realized there was something different about him. He was now more invigorated and demonstrated he now possessed arcane abilities. After confessing that the previous day was the most exciting of his life, he expressed interest in joining the party and taking on the life of an adventurer. There was some disbelief in the sudden change on Mr. Biggins and Jade was initially completely uninterested in adding him to their group but the decision was made to give him a chance just as Capt. Shivers informed the party the repairs were completed and it was time to depart.
