After bringing Cronelius to the king's advisor Tim, the party attempted to acquire the job of escorting the archaeologist to Nightstone and the Whispering Caves. Tim advised the party to see him the next day as he much to discuss with Cornelius. Having some down time in the city, the party decided it was a good time to take care of some business. First up was officially acquiring Hammer, Inc, so the party made their way to their favorite clerk. Unfortunately, the clerk was able to determine that the letter assigning the property to Thomas was a forgery but this was easily handled by paying property taxes due and handing a gem to the clerk for his troubles. The party now has a place to call their own in the city.
In an attempt to make their way back to Lowtown, the group notices an odd smell in the air and a large number of shooting stars in the sky. They also become hopelessly lost going in circles, apparently due to some form of enchantment. A halfling wearing chain mail and wielding a sword appears before the party and introduces himself as Harry. Harry informs the party that time on this world is limited as a vision of two humanoids wrestling apparates before the party. One of the humanoids is small and fast, the other large and strong. Harry informs them they represent the two gods of this world - the sun and the moon. A third being wielding a gun appears and shoots the sun. The moon attempts to fight this new figure but is also shot. Harry instructs the party that the village of Nightstone is important and that they should hurry!
The party decides that a night of rest is required and make their way to their new home. Shortly into the rest, there's a loud banging at the door of Hammer, Inc. It is Cornelius Doolan but he is now missing an arm! As the party works on healing and patching up Cornelius, he informs them that Tim is deeply involved in everything that's going on and that they need to get out of the city immediately as he narrowly escaped the clutches of the king's advisor. Shortly after leaving, while watching the group's back, Jade observes a patrol approach Hammer, Inc. and kick down the door. The hunt for the party is on, it's now an urgent matter to escape.
As the party emerges from Lowtown and enters Hightown, a patrol of mechanical humanoids catches sight of them and begins pursuit. Jade attempts to slow their pursuers by tossing a bag of ball bearings onto the ground but to no avail. Fortunately the party moves at a pace quick enough to lose their tail as they escape Hightown into a residential section of the city. The party slows their pace in an attempt to make their way stealthily to an outer wall but are once again spotted by a patrol. After a short fight, the party manages to elude the patrol, imbibe potions of climbing and make their way to the rooftops, over the outer wall and out of the city.
