Port Haville

Port Haville is a major city of the Queendom of Keeleon of Tarteria. It is located near the northeasternmost point of the continent and on the coast of the Leviathan Sea. It is a bustling city and a major port, which sees many ships dock from across Azimuth.

Description

The Fourth Age: The Age of Shadow
In the late Fourth Age, the city was made of several buildings of various sizes on the coast. They appeared almost elvish in design, with human and dwarvish influences.   The city had a set of multiple docks, which were large and deep enough to allow large vessels to dock directly at them. A nearby dock master building tended to the vessels and docks.   Among the other buildings near to the docks were a church to Zenethia, a smith and armory, a large combination inn and general store, a city guard jail, and various residential buildings. A small garden or park formed a plaza between the church and the inn.   The city was largely destroyed during the Tarterian War.

Society

Government

Technically an autonomous city-state, Port Haville functions somewhat independently from the crown. While an Oknar loyal to Keeleon is present in Port Haville, the merchants guild has equal power over affairs of the city, and there must be a consensus between the two for all appointments for the governing posts. This makes it difficult for Keeleon to directly control trade in and out of Port Haville, but that does not mean the merchant's guild is disloyal to the queendom. Simply, they wish to continue gaining profits from the busiest trade city on the continent while benefiting from the Keel's Band and Keel's Navy stationed here.

Demographics

Port Haville is the most culturally diverse portion of Tarteria. One can find members of nearly every race among the wide market streets and trade docks of the city.

Economy

The city imports a number of crops, including wheat, maize, and soybeans, from Bridon Tillage.

History

The Third Age: The Age of Zenethia
The Santeem explorer Tamas Havin founded a settlement on the northeast edge of Tarteria late in the Third Age. There his troupe encountered the newly unified orcish kingdom of Keeleon. The timing was perfect for the new port settlement to open the door to maritime trade for the excess of orichalcum to bring riches into Tarteria.
The Fourth Age: The Age of Shadow
In 4A 995, the Zenethian Heroes arrived on the Black Barrow. They attacked and sunk a minotaur ship that was docked, and they battled several fiends in the ruined city. During the fray, Trip was killed and quickly revived by the Zenethian Orb. After the battle, they rescued the captured Agatha, who they then brought with them as they left southwards.
The Fifth Age: The Age of Beginnings
In late Madaet 5A 352, Ilmendwyth sailed around the northeastern corner of Tarteria. The Amarth'rilain sailed past Port Haville on the way towards Porgorag.
