Owlbear Woods
The Owlbear Woods is a large set of contested forest connecting Requiem and the Lordless Lands. A path of trade, the woods has seen 4 major, recorded wars within it.
Geography
Large temperate trees of oak, pine, and birch rise up as a large and dense mixed forest. Ground cover is sprawling. The Owlbear Woods is layed out over small rocky ridges and a few steep cliffs and caved, heading north to south through it. Small streams arc through the woods, ending in the Glass Lake to the south.
Ecosystem
Large herds of elk and deer run through the woods, preyed on by packs of wolves, drakes, and bears. Owlbears are known to be prominent the close one gets to the lake. Packets of Silverbloom grow in spots, distorting the planes and sometimes sending strange creatures through when the infestation gets too heavy.
Localized Phenomena
Old cave systems sprout out under the woods. During rainy seasons, sinkholes are common and many cave systems are filled with toxic gas.
Climate
The forest is temperate, receiving chilly winters and warm, humid summers.
