Pargos Mountains

Góalanic: Pargos /pharkɔs/
The Pargos Mountains1 are located in eastern Adynía, between Góalanis to the north and Gysikan to the south. They are sparsely populated, the largest settlements being two Snake Monasteries, the easternmost ones in the world. The majority of the inhabitants are Góalanics, mostly farmers and cowherds who support the monasteries in exchange for healing and protection against enemies.
When Góalanis was conquered by orcish tribes after the Paþarían Empire fell, one of their leaders attempted to pillage one of the snake monasteries in the mountains, but upon entering the snake oracle's chamber he quickly left and ordered his warriors to leave the monastery unharmed. Whether this was because of fear or respect for the oracle is unknown, but the people of Pargos Mountains have since been left alone by the Góalanic Federation.

Geography

Numerous small lakes and ponds dot the Pargos Mountains, as well as strange rock formations. The rives Bórúm and Garak originate in the mountains.
