Úrún

Úrún is a region in northeastern Adynía, bordering Ytis beyond the river Hahan to the east, Central Sea to the south, Gráhúlysía beyond the river Rúk to the west and the Wild Mountains to the north. It's where the first orcish societies appeared, and to this day is mostly inhabited by tribes of more or less orcish ancestry.

Geography

Much of Úrún is woodlands and marshes, especially to the south, while the northern part is generally rockier and has less vegetation. The region has a relatively high amount of arcane energy, so outsiders unused to it often feel a slight discomfort during their stay there.

Fauna & Flora

Aside from more mundane boars, elks and lynxes, much of the wildlife native to Úrún uses magic for hunting and defending against predators on far greater scale than in most places in Adynía. This is due to the amount of arcane energy in the region. Examples include certain species of snakes which use bursts of lightning magic instead of venom to kill their prey, and nettles that cause frostbite when touched.
The trees in southern Úrún resemble redwood trees, and are some of the tallest ones in Adynía.

Natural Resources

Gold and iron ore is plentiful in Úrún, especially to the north.
