Helegbrek

"Perhaps one day I too will spy,
your frozen lands and silver sky.
Where no one lives, but thousands lie-
Helegbrek, O Helegbrek"

-From the Ballad of Helegbrek

The Gnomes claim Helegbrek was once their homeland, a beautiful country of ice and snow- but their cities became too large and cracked the ice below them, sinking into the bitter waters below. The Gnomes fled into the nearby Ornzar Mountains, settling amongst the Dwarven communities. Rumors of great treasures hidden beneath the frozen glaciers have enticed foolhardy explorers for generations- the majority of whom are still there. Should you be daft enough to explore this land, you are almost certain to join their eternal ranks.
  To know before your travels:

    • Helegbrek can be reached by land through the Ornzar Mountains, or by sea. This traveler advises against either, as the hazards surely outweigh any mythological reward.

    • The ice floes within the sea surround Helegbrek like frozen sentinels, guarding its coast and making navigation difficult for even the most experienced sailors. By land, deep hidden rifts and brittle ice shelves threaten to swallow adventurous folk whole, never to be seen again. If the cold itself does not kill you, the many other hazards of this land surely will.
