Dessi

Dessi is a jungle nation located in Northern Magnamund.

Founded over 7 millenia ago, the Magiocracy of Dessi is one of Magnamund's oldest nations. The Shianti Empire held major influence here and taught the early Dessi people the ways of magic. Today, the Elder Magi who rule Dessi themselves do not wage wars even as they are powerful sorcerers, for they are committed to larger magical projects in the name of the Power of Ishir .

But, the younger citizens of Dessi serve in the army and Vakeros in anticipation of a day when humanity will take over championing the cause of their freedom and existence against the Forces of Darkness. Dessi is a tropical land ruled by magicians of the Old Kingdom who practice Old Kingdom magic. Their magocracy may draw foreign disdain, but it is much beloved by the Dessian people, as they take an active role in protecting their citizenry from the ravages of roaming Chimera.

Culture

The citizeny of Dessi greatly prize their history as a former home of the Shianti Empire. The Shianti lived here and lifted up the humans of Dessi and taught them magic. They only left Dessi at the behest of Ishir, so that the humans could find their own way without Shianti interference.

History

Dessi has a long and colorful history of conflict with the Shadakine Empire to the south and the Vassagonians to the north. Now that the wizard Grey Star has toppled the brutal Shadakine regime and Vassagonia is in turmoil following the defeat of Zakhan Kimah by Kai Lone Wolf over 20 years ago. Dessi has transformed their tall jungle timbers into an empire of ships at sea.
