Apps Mountains

The Apps Mountains are one of the defining terrain features of Emicara. They separate the continent east of the Sypi River into eastern and western halves, and are often insurmountable, especially during the winter. With thick forests, raging river canyons, and a host of some of the most dangerous monsters and bandits in the world, the Apps are not for those faint of heart, outside of the civilized portions. The southern tips of the Apps are dominated by the Shin Empire and its forces, but to the north, it quickly becomes wildlands once more, with only a handful of isolated and hidden dwarven strongholds acting as citadels of civilization. Rumors and legends claim that the dwarves and Shin maintain vast underground passages between their settlements, offering trade that is protecting during all seasons, but these have always been denied by both races.
