Deadlands

The Deadlands consist of everything north of the Uwharrie Wastes and east of the Apps Mountains. These lands, although appearing to simply be lush pine forests and occasional grasslands, are empty to anything except the undead. Legends consistently persist of ancient cities of the Nameless Empire, isolated dwarven strongholds, or entire concealed kingdoms existing far to the north, but those who have attempted to find them, come only to ruin. The Deadlands fail to offer any hope or sustenance to adventurers who enter the region, and the few scouts that have returned report that it would take a truly massive armed force like those not seen since the days of the height of the Jakonian Empire to tame these lands.
